The Church of the Good Shepherd in Tekapo was dictated by the Bishop of Canterbury in August 1935.
Today the Church is a tourist attraction. A favourite sovineer of visitors was a picture out the alter window that provides a view of the Southern Alps down Lake Tekapo. Unfortunately, there is now a no photos policy due to the amount of pushing from visitors trying to get the perfect shot.
I sketched the Church t sunrise even then there were at least 20 tourists waiting for a photo as the sun rose. I was videoed by one tourist for about 10 minutes.
